AN OUTDATED PLAYBOOK
But Olivia, I put so many hours into that just because I'm a perfectionist anyways. It wasn't about, I could have half baked it, but I just can't. I'm not that person. I really did a very nice job on a very thorough piece of work that they I'm sure are using.
There's so many people that are so extracting and it's like, but at the same time you can hold your head high. Cause it's like, you still have to play to win anyway. It's part of the game and it really sucks, but thankfully you didn't let that, you still kept doing it for more case studies, even after the five.
...I had to do something differently because what I was doing wasn't working. I'm not the type of person that's going to keep doing the same thing over and over and over again, and expecting different results, the definition of crazy. And so I needed to look at it from a different lens... what this group ... did for me is really give me back my self worth and that I was worth something and not just something that was somebody who was cast aside because I didn't have worth anymore.
“give me back my self worth and that I was worth something and not just something that was somebody who was cast aside because I didn't have worth anymore.”
FROM ANSWERING TO SOLVING
So that was something you were getting a ton of interviews when I met you and like, and I, you were like, just not sure what was breaking down. And it sounds like now you understand at your level, the competition is fierce, right?... this was like a bigger shift of like the paradigm of I'm not a passive observer. Now I'm driving... I so I wonder, is it, do you feel like it had to be with you owning the value or you mastering the selling or all of it?
I was always good at the selling part. I'm a good interview. I know what I looked for and how to come across. I think it was me having self-worth and not having that self-doubt... I was empowered to ask the questions instead of just be the answer of questions and getting the perfect answer... What sets you apart is when you go deeper into the problem and they know that you're going to be the one that can solve it. That's really where my breakthrough was, was becoming the problem solver instead of the problem answer. I really think that that was what made the difference for sure.
“What sets you apart is when you go deeper into the problem and they know that you're going to be the one that can solve it. That's really where my breakthrough was, was becoming the problem solver instead of the problem answer.”
THE DOCTOR FRAMEWORK AND THE RESET
...the other thing that was great for me was learning the doctor framework instead of, before this program, I had really thought very much about how do I answer the question correctly instead of me being the one to ask the questions... I came prepared because it was important for me to learn about you as much as it was for you to learn about me so that we knew that we were the right fit... it showed up in every interview, that doctor framework showed up in every interview. And it was what put me at the top. I believe that Olivia.
“it showed up in every interview, that doctor framework showed up in every interview. And it was what put me at the top.”
And that's really hard to do
...you get that desperation of, I need a job and maybe this is the right thing... you got to reset fast because if you've got something else cooking or you're meeting with somebody else, or you're talking to another CFO, CEO, you can't let that go forward.
...making sure that my connections are fresh and that I'm working my connections. That was a huge lesson for me... I have a deep, deep network, but I wasn't using them. I wasn't communicating with them. I wasn't doing the right things.
...the doctor framework was, I mean, that's what set me apart. I don't know that I would be in this job position if it wasn't for what you guys taught me on the doctor framework.
“I have a deep, deep network but I wasn't using them. I wasn't communicating with them.”
FROM SCARCITY TO ABUNDANCE
I just want to reflect on what I saw from you because I saw a bigger energetic shift, just witnessing you because you went from scarcity to an abundance mindset... when I saw how generous you were being with your time with people in this community, they couldn't give you anything. And you knew that that showed me you're in abundance and you were serving everyone and you were detached... most people, if you tell them you're going to get multiple executive offers in this market, they're going to look at you like you're crazy. But did you get to that point where you're like, you know what, I'm committed to multiple offers.
Yes. And Olivia, the journaling exercise was huge for me... I needed that quiet time to reflect for myself every single day in order to be right to move forward and do the work. Because I felt like, again, if I wasn't centering myself or wasn't using that tool, that little self doubt was coming in.
...I had to let go of a lot and just keep doing the right things and trust that it was going to happen and the way that it was supposed to happen. And the only thing I can control is how I showed up, prepare and how I showed up. And the rest of it was really up to God for me.
